MSF does not fund routine repairs such as plumbing work, carpet replacement, or painting. These types of maintenance activities are the responsibility of the local committees, who are expected to ensure that the property remains in good condition and suitable for members to do the latihan.
A capital improvement, on the other hand, is a project that either increases the property’s value or extends its useful life. Examples include replacing the roof, paving the entrance, rebuilding restrooms, or adding an additional hall for latihan and rental purposes. These types of projects enhance the property and represent a long-term investment.
In recent years, most grant requests for Subud houses have been related to capital improvement projects.
If you have any questions about these topics, feel free to contact Renato Sotelo, MSF Grants Manager, at renato.sotelo@msubuhfoundation.org.
